People of Diversity (POD) is one of five employee resource
groups recognized by DaimlerChrysler. POD was founded and
organized by Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) employees
of the former Chrysler Corporation in 1996 and was officially
recognized by the company in June of 1997. POD formed for a
number of reasons:
- Support group for LGBT employees
- Provide social activities
- Bring awareness and understanding
about LGBT workplace issues to employees and management
- Change corporate policies
- Work toward full domestic partner benefits
