Place) where they stumble on a robbery in progress. Blaisdell's other daughter, Kelly is taken
hostage to prevent the assembled police from fighting back, but the Caines, Blaisdell, Strenlich and

Peter strives to clear his father's name after Caine is charged with the murder of a gang member
who threatened one of Caine's martial arts students. The victim is Lo Si's nephew. Caine "flips out"
in the holding cell in order to be placed in solitary, where he escapes to prevent Lo Si from
committing ritual suicide. Once that is averted, Caine returns to the jail while Peter pursues the
girlfriend of the real killer to track him down. Peter is outmatched in the fight against Caine's student

Force Of Habit

Caine comes to the aid of a woman who's being abused by her husband - Peter's new partner,
Marty Stramm (Kim Coates). Peter suggests privately to Emily that she take her son, who is being
beaten up at school, to his father for training. Both Emily and Billy enjoy Caine's instruction, but
when Marty finds out, he becomes violent, beating his wife, and terrifying his son. In the meantime,
Peter and Marty have been trying to track down a vicious criminal (Oland) who has acquired teflon
bullets, capable of piercing body armor. When the bust goes sour, Strenlich threatens to pull them
off the case, but Peter convinces him to let them stay on another 24 hours. On a hunch, Peter
returns to the scene of the bust, the junkyard at 87th and DeSoto, and realizes where the
ammunition is hidden; unfortunately the criminals are back, and Peter is trapped. Caine, who is
trying to help Marty, and Marty join him in the junkyard, and take down Oland. On returning to the
precinct, Marty's son Billy is waiting with a gun to kill his father, but Caine intervenes. Emily

Caine's new student Jake Hudson (played by kickboxer Peter "Sugarfoot" Cunningham) becomes
involved in a fight ring that operates outside the law. Peter is jealous of Jake, and angry that he is
using Caine's teachings to make money in an illegal fight. When Peter and Caine learn that Jake's
family has been threatened and his life is in danger in a to-the-death streetfight, the Caines
intervene. (Note: The combatant Jake faces in the cage is series fight coordinator Michael

Challenge

Crime lord Tan (Ernest Abuba) returns to Chinatown and challenges Caine to a showdown. The
Ancient is kidnapped and held as bait to force Caine to take the challenge. Following the rules of
ancient challenge, Caine allows Peter to accompany him, but forces him to leave his gun outside.
Facing the four ancient elements of earth, water, air and fire, they eventually find the Ancient. That
is when Tan actively tries to kill Lo Si in the belief that the Ancient's death while in Caine's care will
destroy him. Next, he will attempt to kill Peter. Eventually, the trio come face to face with Tan in a
replica of the temple Tan destroyed, and there Caine not only kills Tan, but destroys his evil utterly.

Secret Place
Teleplay: Michael Sloan; Director: William Shatner (yes, _that_ William Shatner)
Peter tries to free a high-school teacher and a busload of students being held hostage by a
disturbed man, Maxwell Forrester (Craig Wasson). Peter had arrested Forrester, a schizophrenic
ex- demolitions expert who specializes in nitro glycerin, three years earlier. Despite objections from
the SWAT team leader, Peter gets on the bus to convince Forrester to let the kids go. The students
are released, but the teacher and one student (Blythe) are kept, and Caine brings a can of gasoline
to fuel the bus so Max can get out of the parking lot where he's been trapped. Peter promises to
take him to a secret place where he and all the voices in his head (all of them famous) will be safe.
He tries, but Forrester finally tells the teacher (Colleen Crane) that he wants her to look after his
daughter, because he is a madman. Surrounded by the SWAT team, Forrester then gets on an
industrial lift and is shot down by the SWAT team. Captain Stiles (SWAT-team leader): Richard
