THE DELAWARE RIVER
ABOUT THE BOOK

The importance and beauty of the Delaware River and the Delaware Valley are reflected in this resource and guidebook. The detailed maps, which cover 199 miles of this free-flowing stream, depict the river and the valley as never before. The 140 photographs record the natural beauty of the river, moments from its historic past, and its enjoyment by people today.
The book includes a wealth of information on subjects, as diverse as: the Indians of the valley, the magnificent canals of the 1800s, other paddling streams in the area, fishing regulations, and river safety. Information on campgrounds, public accesses to the river, and canoe rental locations for the visitor, the camper, and the paddler is presented in a convenient, usable, easily understood format. The authors hope that this book will contribute to the preservation of the Delaware River as a free-flowing stream forever.
