April 9-May 29th
6:00pm the 9th - Art Opening at
Visiting Artists from Aachen
the Ellispse Arts Center in Arlington
Please join the Deutscher Klub in attending an Art Opening of German artists on April 9th at 6:00pm At the Arlington Ellispse Center. Four Artists from Aachen Germany will be exhibiting their work from April 9th to May 29th in Arlington at the Ellispse Arts Center. The artists, Joachim Bandau, Barbara and Michael Leisgen, Andreas Sansoni, and Annette Sauermann will show about twelve large scale works. One of which will be a sculpture built by Annette Sauermann on the spot.
The exhibition has been created by the Ludwig Forum for International Art in Aachen Germany. The common denominator of the works seems to be discipline and construction on the hand and a deeply rooted romanticism and metaphysical reflection on the other. The works are supposed to appear as precisely articulated manifestations of the artists' visual fantasies.
For further information please call Trudi Van Dyke, director of the Ellipse Arts Center (703) 228-7710
Joining the artists will be 16 visitors also from Aachen. They will be staying in an Arlington hotel from April 3rd-10th. The sister cities program will try to arrange an evening when Arlington families can host individuals from the group for dinner. If you would like to meet the Aachen visitors from our Sister City or invite any of them to dinner in your home, please contactJim Rowland, (703) 243-9720.
