105,000 People Equals Changes All-Around!:

If the number of viewers who attend this site in a monthly period is any indicator of the health of this hobby, then I am absolutely certain that we continue to be in a robust, thriving seller's market. Over the last three months, Absolute Beanie Babies has grown from an impressive 40,000 viewers in January to an incredible 105,000 in March!

When I created Absolute Beanie Babies, I had a few goals in mind:

1) Offer a safe environment for chat.

2) Offer a free classified ads section in which individuals could buy/sell/trade in a rapid, reliable pace.  

3) Offer paid classified ads in which individuals could pay a small fee to keep up a permanent website.

4) Offer a value guide which would be updated quarterly.

For the most part, Randy and I have met these goals.  However, because of our rapid growth we have experienced amazing growing pains!  To alleviate those pains, we have made some changes to Absolute Beanie Babies.

Changes to Chat: The chat regularly hosts between 15 and 30 people at any given peak hour time (11am-1am).  Although the vast majority of individuals who use our chat daily are wonderful, integral parts of the Absolute Beanie Baby community, growth has introduced a less than savory element.  To counteract this element, we have updated the chat section in many ways.  First, we limited the number of system operators to just two individuals.  Only Randy and Jeremy have system op status.  Op status allows Jeremy and Randy to remove these few individuals at our will.  We also have the ability to permanently remove specific individuals from chat.  Second, we introduced a Terms of Chat. The Terms of Chat sets out the rules of the chat. We have implemented these changes in chat in order make the Absolute Beanie chat absolutely fun for all ages!

Changes to Classified Ads: The classified ads section now only lists the last 250 classifieds posted. We made this change because we noticed the classifieds were slowing down greatly once more than 250 posts were active within the system. Many individuals emailed us and specifically ask that we continue hosting the fastest classifieds on the internet. We complied! 

Changes to Value Guide: Our value guide will now be updated twice per quarter.  

We certainly hope that you have noticed some of the changes stated above. Creating Absolute Beanie Babies has been one of the most enjoyable projects that I have been associated with.  I am proud of both the website and the individuals that visit on a daily basis.  Thank you so much for your participation!
