FARKLE -------------------------------------------------------------- (a dice game for 2 or more players) Farkle is played with six dice. Roll to determine the first player, who opens by throwing all six dice. You must have points in each roll or you lose (Farkle) any points accumulated in that hand and must pass the dice to the player on your left. POINTS: 3 of a Kind = face value X 100 (ex: three 4's = 400 pts.) Aces = 100 pts. ea. 3 Aces = 1000 pts. 5's = 50 pts. Big Straight (1-6) = 1000 pts. 3 Pair = 1000 pts. You can quit at any time and take your points. (However, you must have at least 600 pts. to get on the board in the first place.) NOTE: You MUST re-roll after scoring with all 6 dice. Once someone passes 10,000 pts. everyone else has ONE more roll. After everyone is finished, the person with the highest score wins. This games is known by many names. It is commonly called "Ten Thousand" (or "Five Thousand" when played to only 5000 points). TEXAS STYLE FARKLE: According to Don Meyers, a lot of people in TX, KS, MO, AZ and CA observe the following Farkle rule variations: * Texas Style Farkle is played with seven dice. * There is no score for Big Straight or Three Pair. * You don't have to re-roll after scoring with all seven dice. * If more than 3 of a kind is thrown at one time, the points progressively double. (EX: four 4's = 800 pts, five 4's = 1600 pts, six 4's= 3200 pts, seven 4's = 6400 pts.) * It takes one thousand points to get on the board, initially.
