SOMETIME'S TOURISTS SAY THE FUNNIEST THINGS.

What answer would you give??

1. How many links does it take to hold the Hawaiian Island chain together?

A. About 1250 links?

B. Don't they use cable to hold the islands in place?

C.What is a link?

2. Does the sun make any noise when it sets in Hawaii?

A. It just goes down ?

B. I think it makes a crackling noise?

C. I think it makes a sizzle sound when it hits the water?

3.On the Lahaina mountain side what are they growing over there?

A. The green areas are sugar cane aren't they?

B. The brown areas are where they grow brown sugar I think?

C. I think the lower area's they grow sweet and low sugar?

4. On the coconut trees, they have silver bands around them what is that for?

A. That is how we mark the high water line from our last typhoon ?

B. The bands keep the rats out of the tree?

C. That is how far the coconuts hang down when they are ripe?

5.Do you live here?

A. I drive over on the bridge every morning?

B. I drive through the tunnel every morning from California?

C. I live just down the street?

6. If I hike to the top of that hill will I be able to see the United States?

A. If you look in the right direction ?

B. If you look in the direction of the sun rise?

C.Hawaii is the most remote spot on the earth you will only see the other islands that are close?

7.( After a great day on Maui ).When I get to the United States I am going to tell my friends about this place?
A. I think the Islands of Hawaii were admitted as a state around 1959?

B. Do you need to bring your passport if you go to Hawaii?

C. You are still in the United States?

8. I'am in California and sorry if my call woke you up I'll be in Hawaii next week, what time is it there?

A. The sun sets in Hawaii last as the sun moves across the United States east to west?

B. The sun never sets in Hawaii?

C. I think I can hear it sizzling now?

9. What keeps the island floating ?

A. Coffee cup lids from the local donut shop?

B.The island is made of solid rock and is ancored to the bottom of the ocean?

C. We use the surrounding air to keep them afloat?

10. How long does it take for lava to cool before you can walk on it?

A.Does lava ever cool?

B. What is lava?

C. How long is a lava flow

11. Does the water go all the way around the island?

A. Only if you look at the island from the sky.

B. I Can only see water in front of me ?

C. Is their that much water in the ocean?

12. Is the water very salty in Hawaii?

A. Only when it rains?

B. Only when the polar ice cap melts?

C. The water is the same here as it is in most oceans?
