~~~~~~~~~~~ presenting loon biology and ecology basics ~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Loon Page is designed to give you an overview of loons (also known as "divers" outside of North America) through photos and audio recordings. It will present this fascinating species in their winter and breeding habitats, explain in general terms key aspects of their biology and ecology, describe conservation issues affecting the species, and even provide the opportunity for you to listen to various vocalizations of a few loon species, and to learn about each vocalization. In the future, a few additional video clips will likely be added, too. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It is my intention to ensure that you locate the information about loons you may need. Please let me know if you have specific questions about loons or need to be directed to a source of information that may provide you with what you need to know. I have provided a current list of loon conservation organizations. Please be sure to contact, communicate with, and support them.
