Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged is one of the most widely read and revered books of all time, yet has never been seen on either the big or small screen. Yes, it would be hard to condense the story to just two or three hours, but it could be done. Or maybe it could be adapted as a television miniseries. But, so far, that hasn't happened.
What has been done to bring Atlas Shrugged to the screen?
I wrote a screenplay just for the fun of it back in 1980. At time time, I was told Ms. Rand herself was working on the same thing, but she passed away shortly after that and the project was shelved.
Now I understand James Cameron's Lightstorm Entertainment has an option to produce a film of Atlas Shrugged. Unfortunately, that's all the information I've been able to come up with. My attempts to share my screenplay with Lightstorm have been rebuffed and ignored.
Any Suggestions?
