The gold parts on this model were all painted in the NNM (Non Metallic Metal) style.  Instead of using traditional gold paint, I used a variety of brown, orange, and yellow paints to achieve the look of gold.  Since the figure was painted in mostly whites and flesh tones, I used blue as the accent color.  At first, I just had the blue dragon on the shield, but this didn't work quite right.  A basic rule of thumb is to never use a color in only one place on a figure.  Therefore, I added blue to the ties on the back of the boots, and this helped unify the color scheme.  The snow on the base is Snow, from Hudson and Allen.
