WHAT IS TAPDRUM(tm) ?
Everything which generates drum and percussion sound by taping any mechanical or electrical object using fingers might be converted to Tapdrum .Its not limited to particular instruments so we might convert a Coke can or a desk become this instrument. Using sticks or any tools to hit the object should be excluded by this definition.

HISTORY
This style of music has not been developed well nowdays .There are few pioneers such as "futureman" who plays synth-axe drumitar using his fingers. .

WHERE DO WE START ?

Ok, If we have fingers on both our hand you should not have any problem to start it :).But where we get the instruments ?. that's good question. If we have a piece of board and we are able to tap on it will be a good start.There is another easy way to learn these things. Sit down in the front of table or desk (any table or desk in our room )and try to figure out which part of our fingers will become main roles on this music. We might practice some drum or percussion patterns utilizing our fingers and some part of the hand.We will discuss the technique,fingers arrangement, building instrument, how to get instruments ready to play.

Q:I am not a musician, Could I play this instrument ?
A: Yes.If you have fingers and willing to learn it. you might get either Tapdrum MIDI brain Kit or build it by yourself (DIY).

Q:I am a musician but not a drummer or percussionist, where I can start?
A:Good. Get the instruments and try to practice it.You dont need to be a drummer to do it.

Q:I am a drummer, do I need this stuff ?
A: Great. I tell you, you will be excited with this stuff. Could you imagine to play bassdrum,snare,tom-tom and hi-hat using your fingers as a set of stick !. Either you are a performing drummer or studio drummer you will benefit from it.

Q:What is basic hardware needed to play this instrument ?
A:a MIDI drum controller ( eg.Tapdrum MIDI brain) with a drum machine/ a personal computer with sound card Or electric piezo sensors with a drum machine which has analog inputs.

Q: What if I dont have either a PC computer with sound card nor A Drum machine ?

Q:Could I create MIDI file from TapDrum ?
A: Yes. If your drum machine has MIDI interface. Most sound cards today has MIDI interface capability.: (Tapdrum.mid )

Q:could I play this instrument in recording studio ?
A: Yes.Eventhough if you dont have any room to build private recording studio (We know acoustic drum takes quite big space),you might play it just sitting down in the front of computer.

Q:Could I make live performance with my band ?
A: Yes, you might put guitar strap on it and you will play drum like guitar players.
