BONE VALLEYBONE VALLEY IS LOCATED ALONG HIGHWAY 60 EAST OF TAMPA, A PHOSPHATE MINING AREA PROVIDING MUCH OF THE WORLD'S SUPPLY OF PHOSPHATE.
Three-Mile Post Yard is located off RT 640 just east of SR 37 a mile or two south of Mulberry. Lots of train action can be seen from the RT 640 bridge. Here, we see two SD40-2's building up a train.
Another view to the south from the highway bridge shows two trains, a southbound of empties and an northbound making up another consist of phosphate.
This view from the north end of the bridge at Three-Mile Post Yard reveals three trains. The caboose is on a southbound of empties. The previously seen northbound continues to make up its train while a loaded train heads north towards Mulberry.
Mulberry's Phosphate museum is open Thursday thru Sunday, check it out! While I checked it out this local freight passed just a few feet behind the museum. This photo section is just getting under way, for a more detailed look at BONE VALLEY, take a look at the great site listed below. |
