Stan O'Brien, Sponsor
July-September |
Ebony Union welcomes this
quarter's sponsor Stan O'Brien '74. At Union he was an
Economics Major and played football, lacrosse and basketball.
Today, he is a Fixed Income Analyst, and serves as a Vice President
of The
Private Wealth Management Group of Mellon Financial Corp.
He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
Since Union, he has earned an MBA with a concentration in Finance
and Economics. Says Stan: "I enjoy my job. I basically
get paid for my opinions: Buy, hold, Sell. If I am wrong - well I
could get fired. Obviously, my
life long hobby has been sports. My current
infatuation/addiction is golf (4 handicap). My other hobby is
maintaining contact and friendships with my classmates, friends
and large extended family. I just spent this weekend
with Pop, Tracy, Fred, Jennifer and saw Debbie Price for the first
time since graduation."
Stan has three children: His daughter graduated from
Princeton, class of 1999 and is now in her fourth year of
medical school. His sons are gainfully employed in social services
and are exceptional athletes as well.
At
Union, Stan was a jazz aficionado and all around
"heavy" brother. Years after graduation,. he was one of the first
to organize a reunion for people of color and he has been very
active in organizing our reunions. We thank you Stan for
stepping in and taking this semester of EbonyUnion until
September 30 2002. Send him a shout at:
