Sergeant Perry's Quarters
Welcome aboard! This is the home of former Staff Sergeant Edmund C. Perry, United States Marine Corps. As you may have heard, ''Once a Marine, always a Marine,'' and if ever proof is needed of that fact, tell 'em to mosey on over here. Everyone's welcome all of the time, so sit down, open a brew, and stay a while. Any FNGs may want to learn more about me, but the rest of you can stand at ease. (If you need browser help or don't hear music after the page loads, go on over and visit my Site Help area where you can get a decent MIDI player. Developers can also pick up a nice link button for my site.) My hooch is kinda' cramped with all the stuff in here, but don't be shy about poking around to find something that might interest you. There's a bunch of links here that'll get rusty if not exercised, and I'm depending on you to help keep them shiny 'cause I'm flat out of Brasso. Oh, yeah, Orders of the Day. First off, the smoking lamp is always lit in this place unless you're from some fascist PC place like California or the 6 says we're on alert. Second off, I don't want to find you sitting for hours on end in here stuffing your face full of pogey bait, so here's something to help remind you.
(Hey, dummy, did you break my clock? Try hitting your Reload button. You don't have a Java-capable browser? Jeez, criminy! It's bad enough I kept the clock and the rest of this stuff out of frames to help the less fortunate. (That's just the Marine way -- looking out for our buddies.) Of course I'm also depending on you to maintain a computer with a decent local clock, pal. It's also bad enough I'm having to convert to that ''a.m. and p.m." nonsense instead of good old 24-hour Navy time. (If it's ''oh-dark-hundred,'' you're up way too late or too early anyway.) If you're not sure about your clock, you might want to check out the United States Naval Observatory to get a real-time fix for your 'puter. Aren't those Navy guys something? And for years we thought they were just there to drive us around on their boats.) This site is ...
At Parris Island we always sang ''Eternal Father, Strong to Save'' in chapel. Naval personnel have their favorite verses; those of us destined for Marine Aviation had our own:
During the Vietnam War over 58,000 U.S. troops lost their lives. Of these, 2,663 were helicopter enlisted crewmembers (crewchiefs, gunners, medics, etc.) and another 2,172 were rotary wing pilots from all services (over 6% of all U.S. casualties). And of those who made the ultimate sacrifice, more than 14,800 (over 25%) were United States Marines (more than half of these during the time I was in Vietnam). God rest their valiant souls.

Sorry, but you'll just have to Visit the Link List to access links to more of my personal sites, POW/MIA Sites, U.S. Government Sites, Aircrew Veteran Organizations, Web Rings, Locator Services, and selected Personal and Organization Web Sites.
