Adirondack Mountains in
upstate New York were also a favorite.

Tx, Houston, Tx,
and Prattville, Al, and of course our home Dawsonville, Ga.
Of all the places we've traveled and lived, my favorite
places are the coasts of
Florida, the Appalachian Mountains, and the Rocky Mountains. We've
spent
about five years living along the coasts of Florida. We've always had
a boat
and used it a lot. For snorkeling and diving, the area from West Palm
Beach
southward through the keys is best because of the clear water. However,
some
of my fondest memories are the times we spent with our two children camping
on
the east end of Shell Island at
Panama City. We snorkeled,
picked up shells, sat
by the campfire, and our kids drove their dune cart up and down the
beach. That
was in 1984-1985. That area is now a bird sanctuary. Trips to
Egmont
Island at the
entrance to Tampa bay were also interesting. The south end of that
island has
now also become a bird sanctuary and is off limits to people. Many of
the good
places have gone to the birds. Passage Key went that way
too.
My before-construction experiences include being
raised on a chicken farm in north
Georgia. We had 35,000 broilers which for the early 60's was considered
to be a
pretty good size farm. We raised some cattle and 10-15 acres of corn.
We always
had a good garden and canned or froze a lot of vegetables to eat throughout
the year.
During my senior year at the Dawson County High School, I was president
of the
Future Farmers of America (FFA), president of the Beta Club, a graduating
honor
student, and star student of the graduating class. After high school,
I enrolled in
Georgia Institute of Technology, but dropped out to join the Air Force.
After four
years in the military, I returned to the University of Georgia where
I was a member
of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. I was selected as the Outstanding Freshman
and
the Outstanding Junior in the Poultry Science Department. I graduated
from the
University of Georgia, ...
receiving the BSA Degree.
I served 4 years in
the Air Force
- Security Service (intelligence gathering)
I was stationed at Lackland
AFB, Goodfellow
AFB, Stead AFB, Shepherd AFB,
and Rhein Main AB, and received Russian Language training at
Syracuse University.
I flew 960 hours on RC-130 reconnaissance flights out of Frankfurt,
Germany.
Fifteen airmen who served with me at the 6916th Security
Squadron, USAFSS, at Rhein
Main Airbase, Frankfurt, Germany from January 1965 until March 67
are Roger Campbell,
Jimmie Chandler, Richard Cooper, David Davis, Thomas Draut,
Clinton Englehart,
Dennis Fradley, Henry Galen, Jon Hosmer, John Kinney, Alfred
Klatz, Robert Mayne,
Raymond Nedwick, Lewis Niver, and Robert Patterson. We
all went throught the Russian
Language program together at Syracuse University. . . .

The 'Ingram' Name - heritage:
- - - - - - - - - - - - -John Ingram(1733-...) and Polly Tillman (Prince George Co, VA.)
Their son, John Ingram(1757-1828) and Ruth White married in 1778 - SC,
Their son, Harmon Ingram(1790-1830) and Alsey ____?____ married in 1810.
Their son Hezikiah Ingram(1822-1894) and Deltha Tarbutton married in 1844.
Their oldest son, William Allen Ingram(1847-1923) and Martha Ruth Boling married 1869.
Their oldest son, Benjamin Hill Ingram(1877-1949) and Lydia Jane Truelove married 1909.
Their oldest son, Joseph Allen Ingram(1912-1998) and Ruth Allene Jett married in 1933.
Their oldest son, Edwin J. Ingram(1944 ... ) and Sue Ayers married in 1968.--( That's us.)
- - - - - Our children are Christa and Nathan Ingram:
Christa Ingram and Scott Pruett married in 1990. They have two daughters Erin and Ryane.
Nathan Ingram and Julayne LeBarron married in 1998. They have two sons, Tristan & Chandler.
I made a point of the 'oldest son' issue above because our grandson, Tristan,
is the
sixth generation of 'oldest sons' starting with Hezikiah's oldest son. If
Tristan fails
to have a son, he will break the pattern.
Thank you for taking time to read about us. Come back soon.
