Recently, people on the "List" have been talking about the Radio Shack Ur-q car. Well, i dug mine out of a pile of other RC cars and began to work on it. Well, what's left of it. Let's see, Body, Wheels, Tires, that's it. So my fabrication skills (very little) came into play, and my Tamiya 1/10th scale Beetle chassis (M-02L) with adjustable shocks, race bearings, and anti-roll bars. The toughest part of the fabrication was getting the front and rear sub-chassis of the M-02L to fit properly on the Ur-q body. It took an hour or so, but it's straight. The next task was to make a battery/electronics tub that also completed the chassis of the Ur-q. Again, it took about an hour to measure, cut, and test fit the new piece. Finally, the fun part; reconditioning the body. Several years ago, I painted the body a metalic hunter green, so that had to be redone. The trim/bumbers were cleaned up along with the windows. The body was then painted silver, the original color. The body still isn't quite done but will be soon (trim work's left).
