Welcome to Mousey's virtual tour of the Mastaba of Mereruka at Saqqara. A mastaba is a type of tomb that was often used for the burial of nobles and important people in ancient Egypt. Mereruka was a vizier to the Pharaoh Teti I in Egypt's Old Kingdom. Mousey also visited the Pyramid of Teti I which is right next to Mereruka's Mastaba.
Point your mouse over any of the pictures below and click once. You will be taken to a page with a larger version of the picture, and Mousey will tell you a little about Mereruka, the mastaba, and the picture. From any page you can click on the arrows to go directly to the next page of the tour. Mousey suggests that you start with the very first picture of the mastaba in the very first row. This site is still under construction. Although you can go to the pages and see the pictures, there is little to read except on the first page.
