Hi,
Welcome to "Elf in TN"'s world. I would like to share a bit about "our lives" here. My husband Tony and I have been married for 12 years this June '97. We have three wonderfull kids. My daughter Tori is 9 years old and full of suprises. Zach is 8 years old and has several "challenges" along with his brother Cory who is 5 years old.

The boys have Dystonia and other medical "labels" but as of today we don't have a specific dx. For the last almost 6 years we've been treating the symptoms as they "appeared" or technology warranted. To learn more about Dystonia and nystagmus and ataxia or Mitochondrial disorders the following links will get you started =)
If you'd like more information, I'll be glad to help you as much as I can:)

This is Tori. She is really a very wonderfull child. She enjoys playing outside and watching videos. Tori is a really great "big" sister for both the boys not to mention how much she helps mom with their care. She is my angel-girl and I thank my lucky stars that she is a part of our family!!!:-)

Zach is such a delightfull child. Even when he is hooked up in the hospital he has always been able to find something to smile about. He has labels like : Ataxia, Hypotonia, Strubismus, Nystagmus, Dystonia, Global Developmental Delays, Upper Resp. Disease, Seizure Disorder, Excema, Chronic Otis Media, ect. But for the family he is a witty, well behaved, loving, a true friend and a really special part of our family. His first one liner that I remember the "best" was in regards to our first garden...keep in mind at this time we didn't realize if he would ever be able to interact on a higher level than 18 months of develpmental age even though he was 4 years old at the time....anyways I was weeding the garden and picking veggies as they matured.... I happen to be working with the carrot mounds, Zach ask in his special way what "those" were.... I replied carrots, he ask if he could see it so I handed him this dirt covered carrot and in a blink of an eye he did the "What's up Doc?" imiatation of Bugs Bunny.... I swear to you from that day on he has been a "walking one-liner", there were days when we would look at him just to make sure "he" knew what he had just said....LOL "He" knew alright... him and his "sly grin" =)

This is Cory:) The photo of him was taken almost 2 years ago. You can notice his legs just begining to turn inward but he was still able to walk on his own then:). Over the last 2 years he has lost the ability to walk on his own but still has a "special" smile that is very contagious to all that have met him!!!=)
