Tribal Charms are dependent on the benevolence of
the natural world for survival, the pulse of the seasons and the patterns
of weather decide life itself. To encourage favorable conditions, villagers
carve charms of their gods, familiar animals and everyday objects. They
wear these in the belief that these small images hold the spirit of the original
and will attract what they desire.
For thousands of years these symbols have been
passed down from father to son, by word of mouth, from tribe to tribe proving
their authenticity, power and durability. It is reputed that you can
invoke your spiritual ancestors by wearing the charm of your need.
This collection is made in South Africa. Each
piece is hand finished in bronze and is provided with a black hanging thong.
