Straw Texture and Floating Display Frame

This tutorial will create the background on this page and frame

an image in the style shown above.

You will need PSP7 ~ Get Trial Version

This tutorial uses PSP7 but should work with other versions.

All images used in this tutorial were created by PKDesigns

using tutorials listed at FlyByNightGraphics. (see link below)

Open a new image 300x300

transparent ~ fill with a

light color I used F7EFDD

Effects Plug-in FFG-M

Picasso's Last Word

Settings 91,61,63,3 Apply

Go to PSP Effects/Texture

Straw-wall

Use these settings

Click Ok

You should have this :)
Go to Plug-in

Effects/Adjust/Variations

Click Lighter 4 times

Click More Red 1 time

Click Darker 1 time

Click OK

You should have this :)

Double Click Selection

Tool ~ Settings:

Left & Top 50

Right & Bottom 250

Click OK

You should have this :)

with marching ants marque

Go to Selections

Convert to Seamless Pattern

You can save this new tile,

it is the bg for this page.

Use Variations to change

colors and have more.

If you LUV bgs like I do

Go to Effects/Reflections

Kaleidoscope and use these

settings: Number of Petals 10

all other settings 0

Save and use 20/20 or your

favorite seamless tile filter

and you get another bg :)

If you would like another bg

with matching colors Go to

Effects/Artistic/Brush Strokes

Settings: Length 15

Density 100, Bristles 71

Width 10, Opacity 25

Softness 0, Angle 309

Color Black

Apply this 2 times,use 20/20

to mute and tile.

Back to the Tutorial, so easy

to get side tracked when you

On the original image deselect

to remove the marching ants.

Open the image you want to

frame (no larger then 200x200)

Copy this image and paste as

new layer on the original

textured image. Use the Magic

Wand and click outside the

pasted image. Go to layer 1

Go to Effects/3D Effects

Inner Bevel and apply with

these settings. Deselect

Select the Crop tool and start

at position 20,15 and drag

down to 260,265. Or adjust the

crop box to your liking but

make the texture a wide border.

Corp the image.

Change the bg color to a light

color to compliment your image or

frame. I used the starting color

F7EFDD. Add a symmetric border

of 10. Select the border with the

Magic Wand tool and apply a Cutout

with these settings:  Vertical 6,

Horizontal 9, Opacity 60, Blur 20,

Shadow Black, Fill interior not

checked. Deselect   

Change the bg color to a color

to compliment your image or

frame. I used E5CFB7.  Add a

symmetric border of 15. Select

the border with the Magic Wand

tool.  Apply a texture of your

choice or no texture.

Deselect.

Change the bg color to black or

your choice of color.  Add a

symmetric border of 2.

That's all Folks !!

Save in your format choice.
