THE NEW YORK JAZZ EXPERIENCE(tm) is an evening of true New York City Jazz that your audiences will be talking about for some time. The tour will kick off in September and will run through the Spring of 1998. Dates are being booked now.
On the tour is the duo of valve trombonist Mike Fahn who has played in the bands of Louie Bellson, Toshiko Akiyoshi, Maynard Ferguson, Terry Gibbs, Don Menza and Woody Herman. Leonard Feather said "...the awesome Mike Fahn, who has single-handedly brought the valve trombone into the 1990's".
Jimmy Madison and Friends is a consortium of some of the greatest jazz musicians in New York. The DA Recording Artist brings a group of five musicians to the tour. Jimmy has been the featured drummer with Marian McPartland, Bobby Hackett, James Brown, Gerry Mulligan, Nina Simone, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Joe Farrell, George Benson, Stan Getz, Lee Konitz, Art Farmer, Chet baker, just to name a few. He was an integral part of Red Rodney's quartet until Red's untimely passing in 1994.
Jazzmania Recording Artist Rich Szabo and his Jazz Orchestra close out the evening with some of the smokin'est big band jazz you'll ever hear! The fiery trumpet star follows in the footsteps of Maynard Ferguson, Stan Kenton and Chase for their superb musicianship, innovation and excitement. He has played in the bands of Maynard Ferguson, Buddy Rich, Tito Puente, Ray Anthony, Billy May, Charli Persip, just to name a few, and now heads up this All-Star lineup of sidemen.
