URGENT LIFE-&-DEATH REPORT... by Ron Brown, author of The Body Fat Guide
Most people feel that obesity and other body weight problems are primarily caused by either:
Before proceeding, let's define our terms. When we say something is the primary cause of something else, then it must ALWAYS be the cause, and it must ALWAYS be present in ALL cases. Any other contributing factor that does not fit this definition would be considered a secondary cause; it may or may not be present in a particular case. Now, let's apply these definitions to the alleged causes of obesity. If some people have a genetic predisposition to obesity, does that mean every single person who becomes obese has a genetic predisposition to obesity?...without a single exception? Until proven otherwise, that doesn't seem likely. After all, almost anyone can intentionally become obese. Thus, although genetic predisposition may be a secondary factor, it is not the primary cause of obesity. The same applies to other causes such as hormone problems, slow metabolism, no willpower, lack of self-esteem, food addiction, body image, etc. It cannot be proven that any of these factors are always present in every single case, therefore none can be considered a primary cause of obesity.
Nevertheless, there remains ONE indisputable
primary cause of obesity, and of all other body weight problems ranging from
cellulite to anorexia. This cause is present in all cases, all the time...no
exceptions. It may be necessary to address secondary causes as well, but
if you want to fully resolve your body weight problems you must deal with
this primary cause. Can you guess what it is?
Click for the answer. The primary cause of obesity and other body weight problems is energy imbalance. What's energy imbalance? Simply put, it's when the calories your body absorbs from food are not properly balanced with the calories your body burns. "Well, duh," you say, "just get your calories balanced!" Ah, but if it were that simple everyone would already be doing it! The problem is people can't properly balance their calories by feel. Studies show people are off by up to 100% when guessing the amount of calories they eat and burn. In addition, many people unknowingly sabotage their weight-loss efforts as they follow popular diet myths and misconceptions. So, an essential step in overcoming obesity and other body weight problems is to give people the proper tools and weight management skills to monitor and modify their energy balance. These skills will allow them to form new lifestyle habits that make controlling their weight AUTOMATIC for life! DIETING DOESN'T GIVE PEOPLE THESE SKILLS! That's why over 95% of dieters regain their weight. In a moment, I'll tell you how to get these skills. "But," you say, "even if I learn the proper weight management skills, and I know how much I should be eating, what if I still can't stick to it?"

THE
4 SECRETS OF WEIGHT CONTROL: Studies show that what you eat at one meal will influence what will satisfy you at your next meal. No one ever became obese without progressively accustoming their taste-satisfaction response to larger and larger amounts of refined, processed, nutrient-deficient, junk- and fast-foods. That's why a morbidly obese person can eat 25 hot dogs and still not feel completely satisfied. Overweight people might attempt to lose weight by suddenly restricting themselves to "healthy" foods. But, no matter how healthy their diet is, without gradually restoring their normal taste-satisfaction response, they often end up in a rebound binge on "forbidden" foods. Sound familiar? Let's face it, society is not about to outlaw unhealthy food. The good news is that you don't have to avoid these or any other foods to manage your weight, and you don't need to follow unbalanced diets. You can gradually restore normal taste-satisfaction response while including any food as part of a properly balanced diet. Does that sound reasonable? In fact: Restoring and maintaining normal taste-satisfaction response is easier, and takes less time and effort than accustoming yourself to abnormal amounts of food!
