Chatham Collies is located in Illinois in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. Our home and kennel is nestled on five secluded acres in a peaceful wooded setting. Here we find it a great place to raise Collies and especially puppies! Our dogs are raised in a healthy, happy, stress free environment and we give our dogs every advantage that 20 years of experience can bring.
We are a small hobby kennel with self imposed limits on number of dogs and litters raised here. We have learned that more is not better. It's just more. We are proud of the fact that even though we seldom keep more than 4 or 5 adults, we have successfully competed on a national level against some of the toughest competition in the country and at the most prestigious specialties. Our Collies have consistantly placed at the Collie Club Of America's National Specialty whenever they have been entered. One of our goals is to walk away with the top honors at the National with one of our homebred dogs. Meanwhile we are content to produce some exceptionally lovely dogs that will enhance someone's kennel or become cherished family companions.
Our present Collies are derivations of the famous Vennessee bloodlines. We are striving to perpetuate the classic look of the Vennessee dogs with a dash of personal preference. Our foundation bitch was Vennessee N' Chatham's Busybody, a sister to the well known Ch Vennessee's Midnight Express ROM. "Busybody" was the dam of the gloriously beautiful Ch Chatham's Sparkling Hilights, Ch Vennessee's Expression In Black, Chatham's Obsession In Black, and Chatham's Country Melody. All of which in turn are multi-champion producers. "Busybody" brought her Vennessee style, delightful temperament, and lasting quality to our breeding program through her children and grandchildren here at Chatham. Busybody's legacy continues on with an impressive female tail line of outstanding producers.
Chatham Collies is proud to offer the fancy occasionally available show prospect puppies, family companions and outstanding Champion stud service.
