Collies of Exquisite Conformation and Character

Chatham Collies is a source of fine Collies in the Midwest. Breeders of Champion Specialty and All-Breed Winners. We are a small hobby kennel with self imposed limitations on numbers of dogs residing here. Our concern for the overpopulation of dogs limit us to only 1 or 2 well planned litters per year. Only the very best prospects are retained for future breeding and conformation competition. These prospects are lovingly raised, trained and conditioned for the show ring. Being a small kennel we can give each dog individual attention and proper socialization so they can develope the true Collie character which we insist on. The desire to remain small makes it possible for us to occasionally offer high quality show prospect puppies and young adults for sale to serious exhibitors. In spite of our relative smallness, Chatham bred Collies have made their presence known at many of the Midwestern Specialties. Our dogs have gone Winners and Best In Sweeps at many prestigious Specialties against some of the toughest competition in the country. One of our special thrills was winning the "Kem Memorial Sweeps" with Ch. Vennessee Chatham Thriller in 1995.

"Bart" is the 1995 Kem Memorial Sweeps Winner. His majors were won in tough Midwest competition. Illiana Collie Fanciers - WD - 5 pts under Judge Chip Atkins, Central States Collie Club - WD,BW - 5 pts - Judge Marjorie Tuff and Kansas City Collie Club - WD -3 pts - Judge Les Canavan. He also had several Best In Sweeps and a CCofA placement along the way. "Bart" is by Ch. Vennessee's Midnight Edition X Vennessee's Highcroft Splash.

Ch. Vennessee's Chatham Thriller

Our present Collies are derivations of the Vennessee bloodline. We are striving to perpetuate the classic look of the Vennessee dogs with a dash of personal preference. Our foundation bitch is Vennessee N' Chathams Busybody, a sister to the well known Ch. Vennessee's Midnight Express. "Busybody" is the dam of the gloriously beautiful Ch. Chatham's Sparkling Hilights and also Ch. Vennessee's Expression In Black and several others with points and majors. "Busybody" has brought her Vennessee style, delightful temperament and lasting quality to our breeding program through her children and grandchildren here at Chatham...

Chatham Collies looks forward to the future with our Chathams Prospector An outstanding son of Ch. Fantasy's Bronze Talisman. "Rumble" turned quite a few heads at the specialties. His promise for the future is exciting because he is one of those dogs that really has it all together... type, balance, soundness and showmanship. We also look forward to our upcoming "Rumble" offspring.

Inquiries about our planned litters and availability of puppies for companionship or exhibition gladly accepted. Litter by Chathams Prospector x Vennessee N' Chathams Busybody due mid August. Litter by Ch. Fantasy's Bronze Talisman X Chatham's Obsession In Black due early September. This breeding is a repeat of the litter producing Chathams Prospector and other winners.
