PATIENT INSTRUCTIONS FOR :

DAY 20 BLOODWORK

(Progesterone level)

This blood test is drawn on the 20th day of your cycle or one week before the expected period.  It is a way of measuring and confirming your ovulation.  Most patients will have this test as an initial part of their work-up and also every month while on clomiphene.

Please set up an appointment for the blood work in either office. Dr. Derman does not need to been in the office at that time. Your blood work will be drawn and sent off to LabCorp or Quest labs. A referral is not required.

The results will be back in 3-4 days. Please do not call us for the results sooner. If you call to check on the results, please let us know in the message, what test was done, what day it was drawn, where it was drawn and how we can reach you.

A normal level is 10 or higher if you are not on any kind of fertility drug.  If you are on clomiphene we want the level to be above 15.  If it is less, you dosage will probably be increased.
