David Jones has been described as "one of England's foremost traditional singers." His enormous repertoire of songs and tunes ranges from traditional ballads and songs of the sea through humorous songs, Music Hall favorites, and contemporary songs. David has performed at major folk festivals in the U.S. and U.K., as well as in concerts, folk clubs, colleges, schools, and libraries. He has appeared on television and radio and starred in many theatrical productions. David's first recording for children, Widdecombe Fair, won the coveted Parents' Choice Gold Award and was also recommended by Booklist and School Library Journal. David sings a capella or with guitar, and also plays fiddle, concertina, and tin whistle. Louise Sherman has developed a distinctive personal style and repertoire of stories for all age groups. Her stories range from traditional tales of many cultures through literary tales by such authors as Natalie Babbitt and Jane Yolen. Louise spins her yarns at libraries, festivals, schools, and folk clubs. In 1982, she won the annual storytelling competition at the Sidmouth (U.K.) International Folk Arts Festival. Louise has an extensive background in children's literature, being an experienced librarian and a reviewer of children's books and media. She has conducted workshops in storytelling techniques for children and adults. Together, David and Louise present programs of stories and songs for all ages. They have performed in tandem since 1988 at festivals, folk clubs, and libraries. Their programs actively encourage audience participation - children and adults can join in choruses, act out stories and songs, and even learn simple dances. David and Louise have special programs for such holidays as Halloween, Christmas, Hannukah, and St. Patrick's Day, as well as other thematic programs. They tailor their presentations to the audience and the needs of the sponsoring organization.
