The F.O.P. Range holds one 3-Gun IPSC match a month, held on the fourth Sunday of each month. We usually set up 4 courses of fire with one rifle stage, one shot gun stage, and two handgun stages. The match starts at noon and usually is over by 3:00 pm. Cost of the match is $15 for non-members of the range and $10 for members of the range. The match is open to everyone and new shooters are encouraged to participate. Three gun matches are becoming more popular because IPSC shooters are discovering that there is more to IPSC than just shooting handguns. Becoming good at practical shooting should include developing shooting skills with the long guns. They can be very difficult to master and present a challenge to competitive shooters.
The F.O.P. Range Inc. is the host range again this year for the 2nd Annual Alabama Section 3-Gun IPSC Championship. Last year we had a great match (see major match results) and this year will be even better. Tony Snyder is the Match Director this year. Tony has served as Section Coordinator last year, and has shot more major matches than anyone at Dixie Shooters. He definately is qualified for the job and will make sure this match is top notch.
