Shotgun Clay Bird Range

The Shotgun Clay Bird Range is the newest range at our facility.  We needed to make a protective berm along one side of the range road as it comes behind the Primary and Steel Plate Ranges and the dirt had to come from somewhere.  The resulting hole became our Shotgun Range.  It is 75 yards long and about 35 yards wide and has a large covered area uprange.

The new claybird thrower is installed!!  The "Covey Chucker" is a manual (almost automatic) 3/4 cock thrower that is operated by pulling pack on an arm that activates the thrower.  It has a 30 bird magazine and will throw birds as fast as you can pull the handle.  I have seen (and tried to hit) 10 birds in the air at one time!

All you need is a case of shotgun shells and a case of birds  (you may need more than one case cause it goes quick) and a friend to operate the thrower for an afternoon of great fun.
