Description of the publication:
The Reporter is an online newsletter on employment law developments that affect
public safety organizations -- law enforcement, corrections and the fire
service. It contains summaries of recent court decisions from all 50 states,
new federal laws and arbitration awards.
Although the contents of each monthly issue will vary, as new cases are
released, there are over 200 topics which have been discussed, such as
disciplinary offenses, punishment and hearing procedures; ADA, ADEA, EEOC and
other kinds of discrimination claims; physical, agility and psychological
standards for hiring and retention; employee privacy, and many other subjects.
The official court or other legal citation is included with every case and
dispute mentioned.
There is no advertising in the publication. The editor strives to fairly and
objectively report the facts and holdings, without bias toward either side of a
dispute.
Beginning in mid 2006, the Fire and Police Personnel Reporter became one
of four monthly periodicals that can be accessed online at no charge. The other
publications are the AELE Monthly Law Bulletin, the Law Enforcement
Liability Reporter and the Jail and Prisoner Law Bulletin.
