EXPERT WITNESS

Ed Fry, Marine Engineer license #833473, and other associates often appear as 'expert witnesses' and we stand ready to assist in this capacity for anyone who has a justifiable claim. Our past experience as designers, builders, and operators have given us a working knowledge of Admiralty Law, the Jones Act, and we are thoroughly familiar with the Rules of the Road, the U.S. Coast Guard criteria for vessel construction and operation and SOLAS Rules and Regulations (safety of life at sea) as well as the Recommended Practice for Small Craft as published by the American Boat and Yacht Council.

ISTHMUS BUREAU OF SHIPPING:

Ed Fry is an appointed Senior Surveyor for Isthmus Bureau of Shipping, S.A. (IBS) of Panama and is duly authorized by the government of Panama and the government of Belize to carry out inspections on their behalf and to issue statutory certificates.

Certificates include Cargo Ship Safety Certificates, International Oil Pollution Prevention Certificates, Crew accommodation Inspection Certificate, Fishing Vessel Safety Certificates, International Load Line Certificates, Cargo Ship Safety Construction Certificates and Calculations for International Tonnage Certificate.

MARINE SURVEY

Our education and experience allows us to observe problems, catch potential failures before they happen and do a better job of forensics analysis of equipment failures and accidental injuries. We survey for condition, value and cause. Our surveyors know Classification Society Rules of ABS, DnV and Lloyds as well as USCG, SOLAS and MSA.

WARRANTY CLAIMS

FRY Associates, Inc. is always willing to act as a third party negotiator in settling warranty claims or to represent the builder or buyer in pursuing their rights under the warranty clause of the contract. We do not offer legal services; however, we have worked with a few of the best lawyers in the country and we can recommend those attorneys which, in our opinion, have performed well on other claims.
