Laura Shelton, ND: I graduated in 1983 from Bastyr University. I love untangling the root causes of complex chronic illnesses and finding the treatment modalities that best fit not only the disease but also the patient. I enjoy treating the whole family, from earaches to menopause. In my off-hours, I am a musician and a grandma.

Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine: These practitioners are trained to diagnose and treat both subtle and difficult conditions according to the ancient system of Chinese medicine. Diagnoses are made through questions, palpation, observation, pulse-taking, and tongue assessment. They use a variety of treatment techniques in their work including acupuncture, Qi Gong, Chinese herbs, cupping, moxibustion, dietary advice, and electroacupuncture.

Jill Likkel, MAc, LAc (Bellingham Bay Acupuncture): I am nationally certified in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology. I have been practicing at the Natural Health Clinic since 1999. I use a gentle needling technique suitable for the sensitive. In addition to a general practice, I have developed a specialty working with skin disorders. I ride my recumbent bike, ski, sing, walk with my dog, study Qi Gong, and cook seafood with my lovely husband when I am not at the clinic.

Nicole Curry, LMP: I have been practicing massage in Bellingham since 2000. I offer mainly Swedish and deep tissue massage techniques for relaxation and treatment. In addition to cash and trades, I work with L&I and personal injury insurance. I really enjoy hiking and would like to remind everyone that even if you don't think it's going to get dark so early, you should still take a flashlight in your backpack.

CranioSacral Therapy: CranioSacral Therapists use gentle hands-on techniques to help release internal tensions within the body and seek to act as facilitators, helping clients get in touch with their body's own Inner Wisdom, that part within each of us that knows everything about our health. We pay particular attention to the membrane which surrounds the brain and spinal cord, the dura mater. All nerves and blood vessels going to the brain and cord must pass through this membrane and releasing tensions within the dura can have a profound effect upon the way that the body functions.
The Bellingham CranioSacral Therapy Center, located at the Natural Health Clinic, has three therapists providing a variety of related techniques. Please see our website for more information: www.bellinghamcst.com

Tim Hutton, PhD, CST-D: The focus of my practice as a massage therapist is exclusively CranioSacral Therapy and the related modalities of Visceral Manipulation and Lymph Drainage. Most of my clients see me because they are experiencing some sort of chronic pain or dysfunction, but I also see clients for well-care. In addition to my private practice, I also travel extensively teaching CranioSacral Therapy and SomatoEmotional Release for the Upledger Institute. My other pnmary interests at the moment are Tai Chi and golf, both of which I am very much in the process of learning.

I received training in CranioSacral from the Upledger Institute and have completed the Advanced Level course. The principle treatment modalities that I employ are CranioSacral Therapy, Visceral Manipulation, and Lymph Drainage. I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, kayaking and studying Scots Gaelic.

I enjoy teaching and am currently an Instructor of Kinesiology at the Spectrum Center School of Massage. In my personal time, I like to play guitar and sing, play with Daisy (our black lab), and go for hikes to enjoy the beautiful northwest scenery.

Homeopathy: Homeopathic practitioners use a totality approach towards homeostasis, or balance, in healthcare. In today's society, it is common for clients to be viewed in terms of their segmented parts; e.g. insomnia, troublesome acne, or gastric reflux. Regardless of the complaint, homeopaths know that each individual is completely unique in make up, with different backgrounds, lifestyles, and temperaments, and so we find solutions which encompass the individual in entirety! Homeopaths use scientifically prepared, all natural remedies to strengthen and encourage the body's own innate healing abilities to systematically remove dis-ease, so that health and well-being can safely be restored.

Monique Arsenault, RC, CHE (UK): My training was completed at the Centre for Homeopathic Education in London, England, where many of the world's leading homeopaths go to lecture. I was also able to dispense remedies and establish a clinical practice at Helios Pharmacy in Covent Garden, a bustling hubbub of great people doing great things with remedies on a daily basis!! I love learning - sculpting knowledge about life, about ourselves, our remedies. I'm passionate about most things, but in my spare time I love thinking of what to tell my homeopath at my next visit, swimming, cycling, and eating Indian food.
