Current Prime Minister Ryutaro Hashimoto was used to be the president of family association of war victims, whose souls were enshrined in Yasukuni Shinto Shrine. In Yasukuni Shrine, the souls of not only war victims, but also A-class war criminals like Hideki Tojo are enshrined. But it seems that the Minister of Education, Mr. Shimamura has a poor intellect, because he doesn't recognize the historical facts of Japanese invasion. First of all, at the press interview on August 9, 1995, he made the following statement; "Whether that war was an invasion or not, is a matter of individual opinion. Therefore, that war was not necessarily an invasion." The truth of Japanese wartime aggression does not change. And this is clear to anyone, from any historical perspective. Finally, Japanese history textbooks have started to describe the wartime aggression. However, he refuses to accept this fact. All Asian people are upset at him. Furthermore, he said, "It is stupid to apologize for the past things because nowadays two-third Japanese haven't experienced the wars". It is true that the number of those who haven't experienced the wars is increasing. Because of that, Japanese should keep the war's experiences in their minds so that they will not repeat the same things. If we avert our eyes from the past, we cannot select the right way for the future. Only when we overcome the disgusting past, we can have the hope for the future. In that sense, it is the responsibility of the Minister of Education, Mr. Shimamura to promote peace education, and allow children to study the past wars. The person who has the highest position in the educational field, cannot reflect or apologize. Therefore, we the Asian people, cannot stop worrying about the education of Japanese children. Many people from both inside and outside of Japan blamed him for his opinions. We thought that he would resign his position as the Minister of Education to take responsibility for his words, but he did not do so. Such a person is leading the machination of the amendment of the Religious corporation Law. He explains that this amendment is necessary to prevent the recurrence of such terrorism such as Aum's poison gas attacks. However, now it has become clear that the Aum incident is related to the Criminal Law and the Subversive Activities Prevention Law, rather than the Religious Corporation Law. I have pointed out already some of Mr. Shimamura's childishness and unintelligent behaviors. If his speech and action are premeditated, then this is a extremely fearful situation. Because his intent is the same as that of the Japanese military authorities who deceived the Japanese people and caused them to become involved in the World War Two. The amendment of the Religious Corporation Law is discussed in the Religious Corporation Council, which is an advisory body to the Ministry of Education. They talk about strengthening guidance by the competent authorities concerned, which means the regulation and control of religious organizations such as Soka Gakkai. Before the war, Japanese military authorities established the Religious Organization Law and am ended the Security Maintenance Law. Finally, they controlled religions and gradually deprived the people of every freedom. As a result pacifists were annihilated, and Japanese government affirmed the invasions of Asian countries based on "Shintoism". The Japanese government must reflect and apologize to Asian people for their wartime aggression, and tackle the problem of compensation fifty years since the end of World War Two. But the government just leaves the abusive words of the Minister of Education as they are, and attempted to revise the Religious Corporation Law under the lead of the Minister of Education. We, the Asian people, must caution against these developments within the Japanese government, and as close neighbors, we appeal to the Japanese people, warning them of this grave danger.
