Hello Everybody!

I found an interesting article in July 12, 1996 Seikyo Shimbun. This article reports letters and pictures from Graduates of Beijing First Experimental Elementary School addressed to SGI President Ikeda.

Please read it!

Love always,

Fujiko ******************************************************* "The pleasant moments that we spent with teachers and students of Soka Elementary School and heartfelt friendships are still deeply engraved into our heart," said a letter addressed to SGI President Daisaku Ikeda.

Exchange students from Beijing First Experimental Elementary School, who visited Tokyo and Kansai Soka Elementary Schools in September 1990 wrote this spirited letter, and sent it to Mr. Ikeda with their photographs.

These "Young Ambassadors" of China attended the First Chinese-Japanese Friendship Meeting in Japan. They together attended classes of painting and calligraphy, and planted trees to commemorate the "Flowers of Friendship."

When they met, they were 5th and 6th graders. Now, as high school students, their letters show their growth and independence. The letter recalled their fond memories of heart-to-heart encounter with Mr. Ikeda.

"In spite of your busy schedule, you made time to meet with us, the exchange students. Sharing your thoughts and feelings, you spoke with great warmth and affection in your eyes. You asked for our thoughts on how to develop friendship between China and Japan, and expressed your boundless expectations for our growth."

Indeed, heart-to-heart communication and person-to-person bonds are the source for building "friendships" and a "world of harmonious coexistence."

A Chinese proverb says, "One small ripple in the water produces ten-thousand waves." The activities of these promising young students will make a "Golden Bridge" between China and Japan to remain eternally strong.

The letter concluded with their strong determinations: "We will continue to make efforts towards the future with a positive attitude. We are determined to become people who will contribute to creating true friendship between Japan and China."
