THE BIRTH HOME OF GP, NW FURRYDANCE TEXMEXREX, THE CAT FANCIERS ASSOCATION'S TWENTY-SECOND BEST CAT IN PREMIERSHIP 2005. "NACHO" IS FURRY DANCE CATTERY'S FIRST NATIONAL WINNING CAT, AND WE ARE VERY PROUD OF HIM, AS IS THE FITZGIBBON FAMILY, WHO WERE WONDERFUL TO SHARE HIM WITH US THAT AMAZING YEAR! WAY TO GO, NACHO!!

Delightfully, distinctively different. Constantly, charmingly captivating. Some say they look like a cat from another planet, or an armadillo, or even something that lives in a tree in the South American rain forests. The Cornish Rex cat is unique in many ways, and just one of them is physical!

Its wavy coat feels surprisingly velvety and soft, not coarse and rough as most people expect. It doesn not have the coarser guard hairs found in other breeds and as a results, its fur feels amazingly soft. There should be tight, evenly marcelled waves over the entire body, including the legs and tail. Even the whiskers are curly. They feel very warm to the touch, as the short, downy coat lacks the insulation of a thick coat with guard hairs.

Despite its fragile appearance, the Cornish Rex is a muscular, athletic cat, with a ballet dancer's abilities. The body is small to medium in size. Its long, slender torso and naturally arched back gives the Cornish Rex cat the look of a Greyhound, right down to the thighs that look like drumsticks and the long, whippy tail.

The head of a Cornish Rex is also a study in curves. In profile, it is egg-shaped, with a profile of two convex arcs. Its Roman nose makes for a very regal, ethnic appearance. High, chiseled cheekbones, high-set ears and intense oval eyes give the face an hour-glass appearance.

In October 2001...Furry Dance Cornish Rex Cattery headed East! The call of a better job had us picking up cat beds, litter boxes and all our kitties and moving from Medford, Oregon to Dumfries, Virginia! Every one settled in to our bigger house, chosen with the cats in mind of course.
