Elijah Timmerman's Confederate Service
According to letters from Elijah Timmerman, he originally served in 1st SC Regiment, but was discharged in 1863 due to arthritis. In 1864, he wrote a letter to his wife from the field. He served in Hamburg Company E, SC Reserves. His unit commander was Capt. Minas. They were headquartered at the time at Shoots [sic] Hill (possibly Schultz's Hill). They were on their way to Atlanta.
