Elisha Walker was a Revoluntionary War soldier who served in the Augusta, GA Militia as a Private - 1st Battalion, Col. James McNeill Commander.
He drew bounty land in Washington County, GA in 1784. This land became part of the new county of Laurens in 1807. The land was taken in 1858 to form the new county of Johnson.
Elisha is buried on his land and Walker descendants still live there.
Elisha is reported to have been born in VA, but his parents are unknown. His father may have been George Walker who served in the same unit as Elisha's father in law Morris Bowers. He was closely affiliated with a David Walker, of Richmond County, GA. After David's death, Elisha served as administrator of his estate.
The DAR Patriot Index shows Elisha's death in 1802, but the Augusta Chronicle citations above show him living at least as late as 1810.
