William Fletcher Nelson

Michigan Infantry.
Enlisted at Jonesville,
Michigan
at
age 25 mustering-in on August 22, 1861. Wounded at Gettysburg,
July 3, 1863.
He re-enlisted on December 16, 1863 and was promoted to Corporal,
then wounded yet again at the Wilderness on May 6, 1864.
He mustered-out at Jeffersonville, Indiana on July 5, 1865. He
died on September 30, 1878 from illness contracted while in the
army in 1863 and was buried at Oakridge Cemetery in Catlin,
Illinois Ancestor of
