The Philippine-Acapulco galleon trade began in the late 16th century when huge galleon ships laden with silk, gold, and fine goods for trade and commerce sailed across the Pacific Ocean between Acapulco, Mexico and Manila, Philippines. World-renowned as the "Pearl of the Orient," the Philippines has been a natural hub for trade in Asia.
Today, the Galleon Trade Collection echoes the fine tradition of Philippine-made handicrafts produced from the archipelago’s natural treasures from its land and sea.
