About Gary Schwartz

Gary plays drums for and is founder/leader of The Blue Rays, a popular rhythm and blues group from upstate New York. Gary pursued his passion for music through studies at The Westchester Conservatory of Music and privately. He has a successful private teaching practice throughout the Westchester County area, teaching drumset as well as MIDI sequencing on the Apple Macintosh. Since 1987, Gary has been the drum instructor at Bramson's Musicland/Mount Kisco School of Music. When not playing with The Blue Rays, he stays busy as a freelance drummer, performing and recording with The Dean Friedman Band, The Slippery Chickens, Pat O'Shea & The Eldorado Kings, The Bennett Harris Blues Band, and Hot Hammer Soup, among others. Gary, who handles the production, promotion and business responsibilities for Sound of the Horn Publications, believes that we have entered an era where a cottage industry in the arts can thrive on a global level by making intelligent use of available desktop publishing and telecommunications technologies as well as personal computer-based compositional software.
