The Gilwell Park Amateur Radio Group goes back over 30 years, being part of the Campsite activities and providing visitors to the Campsite with the opertunity to learn and experience the excitment of Amateur Radio. The station is open most weekends during the Summer, for special events like Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) and at other time by arrangment through the Campsite Staff. The Radio Station Team is part of the Gilwell Park Service Team. we are always pleased to receive visitors and provide practical advice on Radio and Information Technology within Scouting and where approriate Guiding. |

The Radio Shack has three Operating areas, a dedicated VHF/UHF room. An HF room and a general operations room with VHF, HF, Packet and Slowscan Television. There are a number of PC's which have Internet and Web facilities. During JOTA, the shack operates round the clock, making HF contacts all over the world. |
