This story is only a few brief words compared to the long and deeply personal story of the USS South Dakota BB-57. She is a ship of which many never heard of because they were born a generation too late. But let it be known here and now that the USS South Dakota and her crew that lived and died aboard her are not forgotten, nor will they ever be.
