My husband's grandmother was a patient there and when she died his family didn't have the money to bring her home for burial. My father-in-law was a young boy and can't remember all the details, so we don't know the year she died. If there is anyone who can help please email me. and as long as we have politicians that dont care we will never be able to
peserve the Cemeteries. They let Buildings be put on top of Graves or if a road needs to go there it makes no difference. We lost all respect for our Cemeteries. Thanks |

| Comment: Hi - This is a little off your subject, but I am interested in a type of grave marker I see in old cemeteries along the TN Cumberland Plateau. Basically 2 long rock slabs are propped together - forming a triangle over the grave. A 3rd, smaller rock is placed against these 2 slabs at the head of the grave. No "traditional" marker is on the grave. Any idea where I can research the purpose of this type of marker? I'd also like to know the general date of these types of markers. | ||

The church has been known by the these other names in previous years, first as Old Union Baptist and then by Mt. Pisgah Baptist. At some point in time the church made a new cemetary at the side of the church and no longer tended to the old cemetary in back of the church and it is impossible to walk to the old cemetary due to the grown up condition.

I had a map of Williamson County with a multitude of cemeteries marked, drove for many hours trying to find just one of them. | Comment: I was recently sent photos of Egypt Baptist Cemetery (on the grounds of Egypt Baptist Church in Memphis) and was horrified to see the condition it is in: headstones were toppeling and a highway appears to have been built right through the center of the gravesites. While the original church burned down in 1949 I believe, the original church records survive at the Archives in Nashville. How can a city that's taken such good care of its Elmwood Cemetery, let other sites fall into such disrepair?

covers this type of incident and is a class A misdemeanor of a person who intentionally desecrates, a place of worship or burial then why is the District Attorney General, currently considering whether to file charges? "CONSIDERING", is not the word i want to hear, CURRENTLY FILING CHARGES, is! There is no excuse for this crime, and its time people learn that this "WILL NOT" be tolerated. Also, why was a Indiana-based subcontractor |
