Complex Spangenhelm with Rosettes & Fluting

This version of this popular helmet type has more artistic license to it. There is fluting sculpted into the 4 helmet panels and tail piece. The cheekpieces are sculpted to look like Roman Imperial Gallic cheek pieces, and in keeping with the Imperial Gallic influence, have three brass rosettes on each cheekpiece like the Roman helmets. I have been forging swords and armour for about 25 years now (the last 14 years as a fulltime business). I've had a paid membership with The Vikings since 1998 (though I have not yet been able to attend one of the events over in England). I have travelled to England and seen a lot of Dark Age equipment at the Royal Tower Armoury Museum, the Yorkshire Museum, The Jorvik Viking Centre, The British Museum, The Wallace Collection,and also in the Philadelphia of Museum of Art and The Royal Ontario Museum. I have done a bunch of small scale steel-fighting with friends here in the US, using weapons forged by myself.
