Rosalind is still far from well, but has returned to the Nursing Home in Bramley.

Congratulations to Sue and James Richardson on the birth of a son, which is the fifth great grandchild for Margaret and Curtis Keeble.

Many thanks to Beth Odom for organizing our Collection for Christian Aid. The total was £773.30 , quite a lot down on last year year’s total. On 9 of the 11 roads we cover in Thames Ditton the result was one third down on last year, and the total was boosted by one large donation.

Jean and Hazel have both had falls - we hope they are feeling better.

Welcome to E.O. Humphrey, our new electronic organ who will lead our singing on varying Sundays when Kathleen is not available to play the real thing. He doesn’t wait on ceremony and once told how fast to go he won’t kindly slow down to let us catch up! A volunteer will be in charge of him each time and Mike Lambert understands him well and will advise him on how we are likely to react. This is a learning curve for all of us!

A Message from the Church Secretary- Linda Lambert I am delighted to inform you that the URC Southern Synod has decided that when our current ministers retire, Tolworth URC and ourselves will share a full-time stipendiary minister. I think that this is the best outcome we could possibly have hoped for, and all the elders are very pleased with this news. Our churches are located reasonably near each other and are of a similar size. Tolworth does have a larger congregation but compared to Kingston and New Malden churches in our cluster, we are a good match.

Most of you are familiar with the process of calling a new minister but I will explain the process further at our next church meeting on 15 June 2008. Meanwhile it gives me particular pleasure to tell you that Cecil Davis has been appointed Interim Moderator and he will guide Tolworth URC and ourselves through the process of calling a new minister.

I think that this is a very exciting opportunity for us all. We know what it is like to share a minister with another church and the benefits it can bring. We have all enjoyed the friendly connections we have made with the congregation of Richmond Green church. With Tolworth URC situated so much closer to us, it will give us all a much greater opportunity to grow together spiritually and to share our witness of Christ’s word in our communities
