BACKGROUND

The chapter was formed in 1981 by a group of people who wanted to share and increase their common interest in family history. Although many of our members have ancestors in this locality, that is not required for membership. Our educational programs and the sharing of information and research problems cover a much broader area.

Meetings are held 9 times per year on the second Thursday of January, February, March, April, May, September, October, November, and December at 7:30 PM. The Old Town Hall, also known as the Senior Activity Center, located at 18825 Royalton Road, just southeast of the Commons, (across from the Clock Tower is the site of these meetings. Occasionally joint meetings with other chapters or field trips are planned. Guests are always welcome.

Membership includes 3 issues of our newsletter per year and free queries therein. A Membership and Surname Directory, as well as Ancestry Charts, are maintained by the chapter for its members.
