Page 3 ![]() On The Road To Heaven One day there were loud noises and clapping of hands in the friary. The friars inquired about the noise. Padre Pio was reluctant to answer because of his humility, but they insisted. He said: "You should know my dear brothers, there has just been a large group of soliders, who fell in the last war, and as I have prayed for them a great deal during the last days, they have just come to me to say thanks before going to heaven." He said that he met many on the road that leads to the friary who had come from purgatory also. ![]() During Benediction Father Pio laid all written and verbal requests before Our Lord. Sometimes wonderful things happened right there or some far away place. Through his intercession graces were dispensed and those in attendance were deeply moved.
Despite all his sufferings and pain, Padre Pio was a happy man. He had frequent visions, of Our Lord, Our Lady, his guardian angel, and probably the saints. He used to keep his hand inside his chest pocket and say the rosary throughout the day. He used to say up to 35 rosaries a day. He did so while laughing and telling funny stories. He was able to give full attention to all. |
