Roastees, Awards, Honors and Achievement on members:

9/2000 to 6/2001

David Finlay was roasted for studying Civil War history through the internet, and his work on collecting and compiling the email addresses of Olde Colony members.

Jim Driscoll was roasted for his service as Chairman the Refreshment Department, and on his work on Civil War Preservation in the Town of Dedham.

Carol Tombari, Executive Board member, former Secretary, was roasted for her service and on her overall contribution to the Civil War studies.

Peter Chace, Executive Board member, won the top prize on Civil War artifacts exhibition competition in our Jubilee banquet. His exhibits included Cavalry pistols and saddle.

Secretary Gordon Kwok honored again! He is the winner of the "2000 Civil War in Miniature Historic Site Award" for his internet Civil War web site.

Anne-Marie Brady received her recognition and gift on her service of our Refreshment Department.

Paul Griffel, MD won first prize in the Cross-word puzzle on Antietam during the 2001 Battlefield Tour.

9/2001 to 6/2002

Roastee: Barbara Victoriano, on her work in managing the Civil War Books Sale table.

Roastee: Bob Schipp, on his contribution of Civil War books to our Civil War Books Sale table.

Roastee: Joe Ciano, founding member, Vice-President, and his achievement on Cavalry re-enactment. He also received a citation from the Governor of Alabama on Civil War Cavalry, presented by Confederate Don Berry.

St. Barbara's Medal recipient: Bill Hickey, on his contribution on Artillery re-enactment and in his research on 5th Mass. Regiment. (St. Barbara is the Patron Saint of Artilleryman and the medal was donated by OC member and Revolutionary War Artilleryman Paul Kenney of Weymouth.)

Jubilee IX Civil War Display Table winner: "They are all great, too tough to call." All participants are winners! Brian Murphy, Peter Chase, Chuck Fazio, Charlie Lawrence and Peter McDonough.

9/2002 to 6/2003

Roastee: Paul Griffel, Chairman of the Jubilee X.

Jubilee X Civil War Display Table winners: Peter Chase, Peter McDonough, Cliff Young, Bob Hearsey and Dudley Letson.

9/2003 to 6/2004

Recipients of Olde Colony Civil War Preservation Fund

(We raised fund to preserve Civil War sites/artifacts. The following are the organizations that we have contributed our fund to, for the purpose of preserving Civil War sites/artifacts.)

1. Civil War Preservation Trust---on preserving Brandy Station.
(old name: APCWS, The Association for the Preservation of Civil War Sites, merged with the Civil War Trust, forming the Civil War Preservation Trust.)
2. SHAF (Save Historic Antietam Foundation).
3. Ed Bearss Fund, via BGES (Blue and Gray Educational Society).
4. Annual Scholarship Fund at Gettysburg College----Gettysburg Civil War Institute.
5. Joshua Chamberlain House in Brunswick, Maine.
6. Clara Barton's House at North Oxford, Mass.
7. Rockland, Mass, G.A.R. building restoration.
8. Captain Forbes Museum in Milton, Mass., for the preservation of an original oil painting on the Battle of Monitor and Merrimack
9. Civil War Round Table Associates --- Heritagepac
10. Preservation of a statue of a Civil War soldier in Milton, Mass. (on Joe Ciano's recommendation)
11. Friends of the Borderland Park, Inc. (The Ames Mansion hosted General Ben. Butler and his son-in-law General Adelbert Ames {who was the superior of Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain of 20th Maine} Civil War artifacts)
12. The Bennet-Forbes House in Milton, Mass. --- to restore Lincoln's Flag.
13. Fix up the Civil War Memorial in the Village Cementery in Dedham, Mass. --- Jim Driscoll applied and received an outside grant, all by himself, to do this preservation project.
14. Endicott Estate, Dedham, MA --- our monthly meeting location.
15. Town of Norwood, MA, on a project to restore a GAR Civil War painting at their Memorial Hall in the Town Hall.
16. Norton Public Library, MA, on a project to preserve and rebind a two-volume set, Record of the Massachusetts Volunteers 1861-1865.
17. National Park Service at Gettysburg, PA will use our donation to do preservation work on the 11th Mass. Monument in Gettysburg.
18. Dyer Memorial Library, Abington, MA on (1) book binding: the "General Index and Additions and Corrections" volumes of the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies; and (2) Photograph preservation of Rev. Jesse H. Jones by Purdy, Civil War veteran from N.Y. State.
19. Dartmouth Veterans' Memorial Park, MA, Civil War Monument of Capt. David L. Gifford.
20. Waterloo Library & Historical Society, Memorial Day Museum, NY----The preservation of Civil War document of General Murray.
