As of January 1st 2001, Gogebic County has a new Sheriff in town. Larry Sanders who is a life long resident of Gogebic County and lives in Ironwood, had been a Deputy with the department since 1975. Larry has taken over for retiring Sheriff Donald Pezzetti.

This web page was created as the "Sheriff's own" so that our Sheriff can express his views and opinions on Law Enforcement in Gogebic County, his goals for the department, etc. All of us in the department welcome Larry to this position and hopefully in the near future I will be able to add Larry's commentary to this web page. But at present time I am not sure if this will be occuring as the county now is creating a new web site and a new Sheriff's Dept site, so our humble site which I will continue to maintain will now be the "Unofficial" Dept web site..
