DOCUMENTATION OF INDIVIDUAL HERBS
This tea harmonizes the five-organ system including Liver/Gall bladder,
Heart/SmalI Intestine, Spleen/Stomach, Lung/Large Intestine, and Kidney/Bladder.
Plus, a high level of antioxidant (80% polyphenols) from green tea extract
promotes longevity. In addition, this product contains herbs used to cleanse
the entire body, including the digestive tract and colon. It is a caffeine
free waking up tea and also promotes weight loss even though one may be
eating high fat, high calorie foods.
Green Tea
Organ Affinity: Heart, Lung, Stomach
Effects: Antipyretic, antidote, expectorant, improves digestion, lowers blood pressure, headache and hangover, clears heat from liver, lung and stomach.
Scientific findings: Polyphenols in green tea are potent antioxidants (40 times stronger than Vitamin C, 20 times stronger than Vitamin ·E). Polyphenols have radioprotective action, anti-mutagenic action, anti-tumor action, anti hypercholesterolemic action, anti- hyperglycemic action, anti-hypertensive action (Angiotensin I converting enzyme inhibitor), anti-bacterial and anti-viral action, anti-ulcer action, deodorant action, fat-sugar blocking action (Inhibiting Amylase, Sucrase, Maltase) and fat reducing action.
Lycium Barbarum

Effects: Tonic to liver and kidneys, nourishes semen, improves vision.

Hawthorn berry
Organ Affinity: Spleen/Stomach, Liver, Heart
Effects: Digestive, moves stagnant excess food, antidiarrhetic
Indication: Stagnant, undigested food accumulated in stomach; excess consumption of meats and fats; diarrhea, post-natal abdominal pain; scrotal pain and pressure. Dilates the blood vessels to lower blood pressure and dissolves cholesterol deposits in lining of blood vessels.
Orange peel
Organ Affinity: Spleen/Stomach and Lung/Large Intestines
Effects: Regulates energy, improves digestion, expectorant, antitussive, drying, antiemetic
Indication: Energy stagnation in Spleen and in Stomach, oppression in chest, stagnation due to excess phlegm, abdominal pain and pressure, nausea and vomiting.
Ginger
(Zingiber officinale)

Effects: Warming, stimulant to yang energy; dissolves phlegm,
stomach ache,
antiometic.
Indications: Cold excess in spleen and stomach; nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, cold and painful abdomen, cold hands and feet, weak pulse, cold excess in lungs: cough; profuse clear sputum.
Remarks: Fluid extract of ginger has been used since the 1500's for gastrointestinal distress. May help with motion sickness, vestibular disorders, even morning sickness and a cardiotonic agent. Ginger also acts as a powerful antioxidant, promotes potent anti-ulcer activity, promises chemopreventive agents for intestinal neoplasia, improves energy by facilitating the action of the ATPase and improving usage of oxygen in the body.
Astragalus
(Radix astragali)
Organ Affinity: Spleen, Lungs
Effects: Tonifies; diuretic, impedes perspiration, promotes suppression of abscess.
Indications: Energy deficiency, fatigue, prolapsed rectum, womb, or other organs, profuse sweating due to external "empty" ailments; stubborn abscess; facial swelling; diabetes.
Remarks: Used as a cardiotonic, lowers blood pressure and blood sugar; improves circulation in flesh and skin. Strengthens immune system by stimulating white cell activity and production of interferon. Chinese herbalists use it to improve digestion and metabolism.
Liriope

Indication: Lung-yin deficiency, dry- coughs, blood in sputum, irritability, thirst due to fluid deficiency.
Rehmannia

Effects: Antipyretic, cools and tonifies the blood, kidney and cardiotonic, demulcent, hemostatic, diuretic.
Indications: Body heat and heat rash due to internal heat excess, yin deficiency due to heat injuries, diabetes.
Lo Han Kuo
(Cucurbitaceae fruit - Momordica grosvenori)
Organ Affinity: Spleen, Liver
Effects: Antipyretic; moist; calming; and relaxing.
Indications: Digestive tractproblems; sore throats, coughs, headache, and tension.
Remarks: Effective for elimination of constipation, diarrhea,
or other digestive problems; relaxes digestive tract. Relates to tension
and helps reduce headaches.
