This art was intuited and concieved as a mirrored
"Make a Wish" shooting star over a fairy the day of
the peak of Perseid Meteor shower although I had no
idea that the showers were happening until when
later that night when I serpendipitously saw a huge
shooting start that left a shimmering gold and blue
tracer in the sky.
Then I saw several more and that whole time the boxes were
outside under the stars. The synchronicity of the events left me
amazed and in awe with an over whelming feeling of magick. This
year the showers peaked on August 12th - 13th. The moon set
early in mid-August; the sky was crystal clear. Perseid meteors
come from comet Swift-Tuttle. Every 130 years, the comet swoops
in from (beyond Pluto) and plunges through the plane
of the solar system not far from Earth's orbit. This art work also
has good Karma, because it was used in conjunction with
Cosmic Wheel Native/Tarot reading and spiritual advising in
a benefit called a "Night of Magic" to raise money to for the
Larimer County Foodbank.
there is much more going on in this world then the reality that meets
the eye/I. I have tryed to capture that magick in this painting which
is more altar and sculpture like and includes diamond shaped peices
of cut mirror, a 3d crown of flowers on the fairy's head and shiny
metalic paint and different colored glitter over the paint and in thefairys hair which is hard to capture in the pictures and removable
brass heart shaped dish which is a perfect spot for people to putspare change as they cast their wish.
(This might actually make you money over time if it finds a proper place)
The fairy sits between the Moon and the Sun representing the
balance that we all must stive for between Intuition and
Consciousness and Dark and Light. The rainbow on the
side represents that if you are aware of the living Rainbow
of color that we all live in and are part of that you will be blessed.I have tryed to capture this work from a variety of angles
because it is a dynamic work that changes with your perspective and lighting and background. This work wants to be someplace like a coffee shop or Museam or store window because it is a real attention getter where people can walk past and see the effect of the mirrors reflecting changing perspectives creating a moving twinkling background.
It has various phrases painted on it which include
on the sides and "Make a Wish", Then smaller and not very
visible on the top edge it says "Thoughts Create Reality"
and on the bottom edge it says "Believe in your Dreams" and
"Do Everything with Love" is on the bottom by the heart.
I also believe that this work of art has tailsman like power
because it was created a power spot called the Vortex, high
in the Rocky Mountains of Northern Colorado which is
in very
ancient outcropping of fin like rocks in the
foothills overlooking
Loveland and very close to the epicenter of the 1882
colorado
earthquake. I call this artwork
" Fairy of the
Perseids" and proudly
consider it in the
genre of “Recycled Outsider
Fantasy Folk Art”
because the artwork is a recycled wooden drawer from an
old workbench which also has good Karma and is good
for the planet.
on the box are salvaged from the Drop and Swap from Larimer County landfill which is a store in which people donate unwanted
paints which are then available free to others instead of dumping them into the land fill. This unique fairy also has a sister that materialized simultaneously. They are however not identical.
The other box has the colors exchanged and the fairy is wearing
a pink dress and the other fairy is bigger with a different expressionand face. The focus of all of all my art work is to evoke conscious
raising philosophical thoughts and usually involves the painting or
focus of light.
